12/31/2016 Business and history over a cup of teaby Cassandra Vincent What a lovely way to end the year. An invite came through my email offering me an afternoon tea in an historic building while having the opportunity to go deeper with a wonderful business tool I use. It was like getting a gift. Thanks to Constant Contact, the Blinn House and the Women’s City Club this great afternoon coalesced right around the holidays. There was some opportunity for social time around the buffet of scones, finger sandwiches and chocolate dipped strawberries. Tea was served from silver pots by some lovely ladies and poured into beautiful china cups with saucers in a variety of designs (I really should have turned mine over to check where it came from it was so gorgeous). Tea is a welcoming connecter not just in social settings but it is a great way to jazz up a business meeting. Constant Contact really did it right by creating a chill (and delicious) atmosphere that made for a relaxed communication of information on their updated tools. It gets even better as we received a tour of the historic Blinn House, a Prairie School style building dating back to 1905 that was bedecked in classic holiday bling. There are regular art exhibits throughout the house and a great one was going on at the time of my tour – I included pics of some of the art pieces but it is just a tiny sample of all that was on display. Enjoy the gallery of shots and consider incorporating tea in your next business gathering – if you have access to an amazing location and art all the better! All opinions are my own.
